Ingredient Tips for Dill Pickle Hummus

  • Base Ingredients: Chickpeas, tahini, and olive oil create the creamy, rich foundation of the hummus, providing smooth texture and a nutty, earthy flavor. These pantry staples can easily be found at stores like Trader Joe’s or Aldi.
  • Flavor Boosters: Dill pickles, pickle juice, garlic, cumin, and salt add a bold, tangy kick with zesty pickle flavor, savory depth from garlic and cumin, and just the right amount of seasoning.
  • Texture & Freshness Enhancer: Blending with an ice cube helps whip the hummus into a light, ultra-creamy texture.
  • Optional Garnishes: Fresh dill, olive oil, and chopped pickles add visual appeal and an extra burst of flavor for serving.

Delish Dippers

This dip is one of the best ways to enjoy that signature dill pickle tang, especially on warm summer days with crostini, pita chips, crackers, pretzels, or crunchy veggies. It also makes a zesty spread for sandwiches, wraps, or burgers. It’s great for adding a tasty twist to your usual lunch.

Storing Homemade Hummus

Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Freezing is not recommended, as it can change the texture and flavor once thawed.

Always stir before serving if stored, and discard if it smells sour or separates excessively.
